Chris Symon

A dynamic and versatile performer, Chris is a graduate of the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art (NASDA), holding a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Musical Theatre. With over a decade of experience on stage, Chris has captivated audiences across New Zealand, Australia, and the Middle East with his work in theatre, musical theatre, cabaret, and concert performance.

Chris is best known for his recurring lead role in The Cat in the Hat across multiple international tours and for his standout performances as Lord Farquaad in Shrek The Musical (Middle East Tour), Alex the Lion in Madagascar The Musical, and Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar. His diverse musical theatre credits also include Sister Act, Mary Poppins, Les Misérables, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

In the cabaret and concert scene, Chris has headlined his own solo shows, and performed as a featured soloist at Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park and other national festivals.

Alyssa Parkinson

Invercargill-born performer making waves in Christchurch’s musical theatre scene. With a powerhouse voice, charming stage presence, and a growing list of impressive credits, Alyssa brings warmth, authenticity, and passion to every performance.

A recent graduate of NASDA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre, Alyssa’s career highlights include:

  • Starring as Agapi in the world premiere of ‘Breaking Plates’ – The Musical
  • Nicola in Kinky Boots (Showbiz, 2024)
  • Featured performer in Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park (2022) and Mitre 10 Sparks In The Park (2025)

She’s also graced the stage in Ovation Theatre’s own productions of Simply Sondheim, Spring Awakening, and Into the Woods, as well as numerous other shows with NASDA and The Entertainment Company.

This show is more than a cabaret — it’s a celebration of a young artist’s journey, filled with the songs that shaped her and the stories behind them.
